A guide to Choosing the Perfect Hot Tub.

Are you thinking about adding a Hot Tub to your home? Is the idea of relaxing in warm, bubbling water while taking in the serene surroundings becoming more enticing but you don't know where to begin? If this sounds like you, or you just want to know a bit more about Hot Tub's then read below:

Choosing the right hot tub for you and your lifestyle can feel like an easy task but we strongly suggest you get it right the first time. Using a bit of careful consideration will help long term making sure your new Hot Tub ticks all the boxes whilst being cost efficient for you.

In this guide, we'll walk you through the essential factors to consider when selecting the perfect hot tub for your home.

1. Determine Your Budget

Before diving into the world of hot tubs, it's essential to establish a budget. Hot tubs come in a wide range of prices, from affordable inflatable models to high-end, feature-rich spas. Setting a budget will help you narrow down your options and prevent you from overspending.

Inflatable models are designed to last up to approx. 5 years. They will only last this long if maintained perfectly. Realistically they will do a couple of years. The running cost's of a inflatable Spa are also very high as there is little to no insulation. That being said they do serve a purpose and often we see people upgrading from an Inflatable to a hard shell.

Hard-shell Spas are much more insulated. They will last many more years with the possibility of going 20+ years if maintained correctly and depending on what model you choose will comfortably sit more people. They do of course have a higher price tag, starting from £4,495.00

2. Consider the Size

Our Hot tubs come in various sizes, from compact two/three-person tubs to large seven-person models. Consider how many people will regularly use the hot tub and the available space in your garden, decking or patio. Remember that a larger hot tub may require more maintenance and energy to operate.

3. Features

The number and type of jets can significantly impact your hot tub experience. Different models offer various options, so think about what type of hydrotherapy you prefer. Some hot tubs also come with features like more LED lighting, built-in speakers, and advanced filtration systems. Consider which features are essential to you and your family.

4. Energy Efficiency

Hot tubs can be energy-intensive, so it's crucial to choose an energy-efficient model. Look for a well-insulated tub with a high-quality cover to retain heat. Energy-efficient hot tubs not only reduce your utility bills but also minimize your environmental impact.

5. Water Care and Maintenance

Keeping your hot tub water clean and safe is essential. Research the water treatment systems available, such as chlorine and bromine, and choose one that suits your preferences. Additionally, consider the ease of maintenance and the availability of water care products for your chosen hot tub.

6. Try before you buy

Don't make a decision solely based on online research. Visit Solstice Hot Tubs and to see the models in person. Sit in the tubs, adjust the jets, and ask questions. Sitting in the hot tub will give you a better idea of how it feels and whether it meets your comfort expectations.

7. Warranty and Customer Support

Ensure that the hot tub you choose comes with a comprehensive warranty. This will protect your investment and give you peace of mind. Also, research the manufacturer's reputation for customer support and service, as this can be crucial if you encounter any issues down the road.

8. Installation and Permits

Consider the installation process, including accessibility, and mains supply. Some hot tubs may require electrical work, so factor in these costs and requirements when making your decision. Planning permission is typically not required for a Hot Tub but you may need to contact your local planning team if you live in a listed building or within a conservation area.

9. Additional Cost's

As with a lot of things there are often other cost's to think about. it's always good to be prepaid to factor in for these possible extra's; Grounds work, Electrical work, additional accessories and future maintenance.

In conclusion, choosing a hot tub for your home is an exciting, it can provide years of relaxation and enjoyment. By carefully considering your budget, space, preferences, and needs, you can find the perfect hot tub that will enhance your lifestyle and create unforgettable moments of relaxation and rejuvenation in the comfort of your own home.
